I usually look at the reason the member received the neg. Sometimes the other party is a Richard, and isn't willing to work with the member.
Some folks get negs. that are unjustified, but fail to persue having it reviewed/removed.

You mean JUST because I've got a negative 34 trader rating, I have to drive all the way to you to swap my Glock for your hipoint???? That's NOT FAIR!!! I'll report this to my local Obama office and we'll just see about this crap!!
I have left way less negative than is deserved . Early on when I first joined I had several members no show for deals we made . I used to just add them to my ignore list . My ignore list is long . I had one member who was a no show 3 times for meetings leave me negative feedback twice with an outright lie . I got the mods involved both times . He is a special case . 1 guy got negative feedback for $30 . We had an agreed on deal and he sold the item to another member for $30 over our price . Classy
