That right there is an excellent idea. All it takes it once. Then a "hey, when I shoot do you want me to give you a call for a heads up?"....or they are complete richards and you ignore them. BUT they will always know YOU made the effort.

You say the Canton City PD , I'm shocked that its even legal to fire a firearm inside the Canton city limits or for that matter inside any city limits of an incorporated town in Ga. with a city charter. I can definetly say I learned something today on here.

i live in the country for the most part . its about 4+ miles to the nearest business area(a small strip mall with 4 stores), off a 1 lane road that looks like someone did crappy job of putting asphalt over it, its normal to see goats,ponies, and horse roaming peoples front yards around here as "pets"

So are you saying you were not shooting in the city ?? Your answer has me confused, if its unincorporated he should have no authority 4 miles out of the city limits ?? Quess I need to put the Friday nite kool-aide down, LOL. Good Luck

I usually go to my parents or grandparents house to shoot since they both have plenty of land to shoot on and has tall dirt banks to shoot into. Several time they've had a neighbor call to report us shooting but where always within the law so nothing anyone can do. A couple of times he's made it a point to ride his side-by-side around the property line to watch us as if we're going to stop just cause he's there, so we give him a wave just before we throw a couple more in the dirt. BTW his house is more than a 1,000' through the woods away.

Had someone call the law on me for shooting in the yard. I had some of my sons friends over who had never shot a flintlock. We were standing there reloading when one of em says there goes a cop car. So I walked out to the street to see what he wanted, suspected it was about the shooting. He stopped and we chatted a bit. He told me not to do it again...
