Neub in the house!

I have a head start on that suggestion; I lived four years in Spartanburg, S.C. while in school. Loved it and the people. If they made eye contact they would say, "Hey." And I, in my friendly northern manner would say back, "Huh?", because I thought that they were beginning a sentence. I worked in a Fast Fare (think, 7-11) and found that my normal accent was an impediment to communication so, I had to speak 'Southern'. Bottom line - it worked !!

As a former resident of Sparkle City myself and frequent customer of many a Fast Fare, I'd just wanted to say "Hey".

Having grown up there, I remember is was only about half the time we actually had trouble understanding northerners and the other half we were just bustin' their chops...

Anyway , Welcome !
