Well said, DJ,Good for DeadCenter. I applaud their effort.
If you've ever shot an action pistol match and been down range and saw all the ceiling damage... you might rethink your position.
This issue is further complicated by shorter folks, that increase the angle that the rounds travel upward towards the ceiling baffles.
That line is based on a user of a certain height and is there to ensure the projectiles make it in to the trap... and not into the ceiling and out of the structure.
I would recommend starting new shooters at no more than 5-7 yards. They're there to work on fundamentals... not bullseye shooting at 25 yards. (And if they're capable of 25yd shooting, then this target hanger should be a non-issue).
Good luck finding another range... any of them that take good care of the range are going to this practice. You could always go get lead poisoning from a range that doesn't give a crap. There are plenty of them out there.
