New Classifieds

Cause (and I'm speaking just for myself) but I don't want to drag along a long list of every "PM Sent", "GLWS", and "wish you were closer"s with the ads.

Not to mention that the more pages of "BTT"s and "Bumps" you pile up the more people think maybe you will drop your ask out of desperation.

If the ad is going to look old and dog-eared with bumps. what's the point of even relisting it?

If you relist your ad and want the old comments deleted from it, just report the post or shoot one of us a PM and say so. No big deal to clean it up.

As I mentioned. I can just re-make the ad from scratch. I don't want ANY replies (although the positive ones never hurt). And every time I relist an item I DO change the listing any way. Lower the price, add trade interests, kill a pic or add one. But "PM sent" and "BTT" looks like dust on the package. Bad bidness. ;)

I agree

I still don't get it I guess. If you want no replies, why not disable comments? If the ad has a ton of bumps and glws, it should maybe have a lower price?

Knew it was only a matter of time before some marketing guru chimed in. Try real hard not to worry about MY deals.

As I said, it's not comments, it's OLD comments. I realize this is complicated and I left my crayons at home so I can't 'splain it clearly enough for you.

The whole point is in 3 days an ad gets 6 bumps max(should any way) but relist and drag the old baggage along and it starts looking pretty sad. And, again for the cheap seats, I already said I DO change my price (if I ****ing want to) when I re-list.

I see your point and agree somewhat. I may try to look at some options on being able to do both both easily.

Don't really see a need for insults, the conversation seemed to be pretty civilized before your post.

Why disable comments? Like you said, comments are good to bump it to the top. But it's pretty simple, I wouldn't want my new ad full of "wish you were closer" and "any trades" or "got a cash price" when it's clearly marked what you want for it.

Say for instance you relist an ad that had 10 comments, 8 more people comment on it also. If you relist again do you get new ad with 18 comments? Sorry if this has been asked before.

Really what is happening when you relist now is the start time for the thread is changed so the system sorts it back to the top, so it's all just the same thread unless you actually go through and list it as a new ad.
