Considering purchasing a new rifle for primarily white tail hunting and possibly an elk hunt next year. I am looking to pair it with a Swarovski Z6 scope I have. My question is what rifle would you suggest? I am interested in the Benelli Lupo. Thought?

WOW, that's a loaded question. They're are so many these days. I'd say anything 1/4" bore and up. Longer barrel the better for long shots, an adjustable trigger and a composite stalk. Depends on bullet weight used to determine barrel twist. If your going to keep this long term, consider a custom built rifle and take up reloading to get the most out of it. On long shots it does make a difference. You get the right set up, you'll only cry once for the money spent. But you'll keep that rifle a long time

Build exactly what you want. If you are hunting elk the .300WM is hard to beat. Might consider a .280AI if primarily for deer.

This is my vote. If you have the scratch, build exactly what you want. Some of the custom actions are so consistent that you have a plethora of drop in barrel options. All you need is a barrel vice, the action wrench for your action, and a torque wrench. Can change barrels and calibers out pretty quick. And choose exactly what chassis or stock you want
