That being said, a child sized Mosin next to a full size would make a kick ass family photo for the parents and kids

I could see a market for a downsized, lighter-weight Mosin that shoots the .223 cartridge. Still no recoil, but it would have more bang than a rimfire, and would be good for long range rifle shooting out to a few hundred yards with cheap full metal jacket ammo and several hundred yards with quality match ammo.

The Thompson Center rifles can be had for under $300 and have a threaded barrel and will shoot sub moa. They are not going to get that with a Mosin action.
