So I earned a small sales bonus from corporate and was able to snag this Howa Mini in 6.5 Grendel. This will be my primary deer rifle this upcoming season. This is the 20' LW Barrel version. Anyone hunting deer with this round? What ammo are you using? The round seems ideal for the terrain and the majority of shots I will get 50-150 yards max. Another factor is the lower recoil as I will have a kid in the stand with me for the next decade that will be sharing a rifle with me. I really like the sectional density of 6.5 bullets and the higher energy over the .223. Please share any tips and load data that is working for you.

I will have a range report soon. Hornady has 2 loadings and Fusion has a load to try out and make brass. I am hoping that I can find an accurate factory load for this year.

With a 150 yard max shot I think you'll be fine with most anything.
