Got some parts in yesterday but had to work last night. Tonight after the kids are in bed I hope to do some final assembly on my new hotness. I'll try to take pics and update the process as I go. The lower this upper will eventually go on is an Anderson with their "essentials" LPK, mil-spec RE, BCM H2 buffer, BCM action spring, Geissele SSA-E trigger, BCM Gunfighter grip and Magpul CTR stock. You can see most of the lower and the upper I'm replacing (already sold) in this pic:

New upper will consist of a 14.5" midlength gas BCM BFH upper receiver group. I will be chopping the FSB and installing a BCM KMR 13 handguard. BCM Gunfighter Mod 4 charging handle and BCM BCG round out the upper receiver group. BCG will be degreased and treated with Fireclean; this stuff is amazing me thus far. Been using it on Glocks with great success and this will be the first AR I've fired with it (cleaned/treated my MK18 SBR with Fireclean Saturday, but haven't fired it yet). Sights for now are the Magpul MBUS Pro offsets. Also, an AERO Precision Extended Lightweight 30mm scope mount. Still waiting on the optic to ship from Leupold; March 1 they said (VX-6 Multigun 1-6 with CMR-2 reticle). I have an AAC Brakeout 2.0 for the muzzle so I can use my M4-2000/SDN-6. However, I'm going to shoot the Brakeout against an SJC Titan and the SJC Tunable comp for muzzle flat-ness so I'll still be competitive in 3gun. If the Brakeout doesn't make me happy, I'll chop the comp off the front and have some custom plans in the works to put something better on the front of the 51T mount. I'll be testing the brake performance on my MK18 lower and then pin/weld the final result once the decision is made.

Nice! I just put an order in for a BCM upper last night.

Subscribed to see how this one turns out.

I Like it. My personal experience with FireClean in ARs though is that it cooks off awfully fast. Was GTG on handguns.
On your mk18? What are you using now?

My 11.5 gets extremely dirty with the suppressor attached. (normal) On Monday, my BCG looked dry and dirty. But I dumped 100 rounds and Fireclean was dripping out of the vent holes and down the magwell. Sort of surprised me, because I don't know where it came from other than what was inside the carrier. Front half of the carrier was caked in powder, but it ran without issue. I didn't add any Fireclean before shooting. I'm going to see how long it runs before it starts malfunctioning. Once that happens, I think I might clean it and relube with weaponshield to see how it compares.

Huh, I'll be interested to see. I've been using Slip 2000 and had pretty good success with it. Stayed put way longer than the Breakfree CLP I was using before that. I sort of skipped the whole Frogsplooge thing after working on a few guns that had that shiatt caked everywhere!

I'm not sure anything can stand up to Tech Jacket's usual rate of fire on his Mk18. Bullet hose, anyone? ;)

ETA- I started a separate thread for FC discussion so we don't derail this one.
