The falls is more like a light shower. I don't know about the river though.

I don't think there's much going as to fishing at the falls, but the Amicalola River runs through Dawson Forrest WMA south of the falls and the fishing is supposed to be pretty good. There are special regs on parts of the river, so make sure to check them out.

If you take Hwy 53 West out of Dawsonville you will come to the river within the WMA.

Have had good luck at Rock Creek and Rock Creek Lake,Toccoa river both above the dam (some areas have delay harvest) and below the dam,Coopers Creek,also Horseshoe bend park is good for a few rainbows. You live in a great area for trout fishing close by!

Yeah we do a trout fishing trip where we camp out not too aweful far from you every year at Rock creek. Also Allatoona and Lake Acworth can provide some great fishing early in the spring out of a kayak. We catch a lot of bass and crappie every year.

Where is a good spot for me to put my kayak in the water on Lake Acworth ? I am not real familiar with the area and I have read that South Shore is a good spot ? Any info you might could give would be greatly appreciated Thsnks !
