New world record shot. 3 freaking miles!

Yeah very intriguing , but would you really use it? And justify probably another 3k in settings it up, and where are you going to shoot it out to it's full potential? If I owned several hundred acres of flat land maybe it would be worth it for the fun factor .
Don't get all logical with me. This is an emotional purchase.

Hitting anything with a rifle from 3 miles is a feat, but here's what I think should be the definition of practical accuracy for extreme long range rifles.

From a cold bore, first shots of the day, all on the record, with no warm-up or sighters or fouling shots...

Hit a target the size of a household door (80" tall, 36" wide) with a majority of your shots.

The number of shots fired could be as little as 3, or as many as 10.

With 3 shots, 2 need to hit the target (somewhere, anywhere). If you shoot 10, at least 6 must hit.

Impressive, no question, a bit academic though. I agree there needs to be limits to how many rounds can be tossed downrange to be considered "practical accuracy".

Three strings of three, min 2 hits per string.
