Newb- first AR purchase

I'm pretty sure if he's attaching a short barrel to a butt stock that's an SBR regardless of manufacture. If hes swapping out a rifle barrel for another rifle barrel he's fine I.E. caliber change or longer barrel change. It's about the barrel length more than the manufacturer

TC receivers either a full pistol or a full rifle build. No pistol parts mixed with rifle parts or vice verse.

I would tell him to stop. And I would delete this post. You can't go both ways only pistol to rifle and once that is done you cant go back. If he's putting the rifle lower on a pistol upper that's an SBR and a federal offense

Incorrect. If you start as a pistol you can go pistol to rifle back to pistol all day long.

If it was a rifle first it can never become a pistol, only a SBR.

The ruling came down as a result of the TC Contender pistols mentioned earlier in this thread.

Thanks sorry for the thread derailment. The AR pistol to rifle thing muddied the waters for a second.

Colt 6920 and done.

Nobody has ever regretted buying a Colt as their first AR. Many if not most regret not buying a Colt as their first.

This x100.

For $1K you should be able to get a brand new one or LNIB, sling, and several hundred rounds of ammo. Go practice and learn with iron sights. Earn your optic. Just my opinion. I see them all the time on here. Good luck and welcome to the ODT.
