I’m looking for recommendations for a “classic” pistol to add my small, but growing collection next.

I’m currently have an HK P30sk, HK VP9, Sig P2022, S&W Shield, Ruger MKIII 22/45, and a recently acquired S&W 38 (no dash).

Adding the Model 38 got me thinking of “classic” pistols.

I’m thinking along the lines Browning High Power, 1911, 4”-6” S&W .357 Mag, or a Colt Detective Special revolver.

My budget will be $500-$600. Recommendations?

Might be stretching that budget for a Hi Power or a S&W in .357, so my vote is for a 1911. Can pick up a Rock Island Tactical brand new in that budget range very easily. The 1911 is an excellent platform and available in 9mm, .45, or any number of other calibers.

U could also pick up a used sw 57 or 29. Ruger security 6, The rock 1911 as others said as well. Don't get no dang glock 19, that ain't classic and it isn't even an American owned company. Glock has it's place, classic isn't it. Besides they are ugly.

I’d say 1911 if you want a “classic” to add. Also gotta add a Glock at some point, while not classic you at least gotta have 19 and see why it’s America’s most popular gun.

Classic, reliable, accurate and easy care, go for a S&W 686. You will not be disappointed and it will never jam.
