WTH is happening with the NFL broadcasters in that they see some kind of need to turn half the broadcast into some stupid ass interviews?

Why the heck are they doing an interview with some player (former player) janitor, or whomever else for half the damn game?

I hope this is just a preseason thing. It's incredibly irritating!!

yep - way too much of this. calling every player by first name or nickname. Sort of like the Olympics - only about 3 minutes of competition for every hour broadcast

I just can't imagine what they are thinking.

I have noticed that all the networks do it now-for some insane reason.

It's not during some lull or while they are changing the field around, it's smack in the middle of the action.

Makes no sense.

Must be something the NFL is encouraging.

I can't imagine any of the networks thinking this is a good idea

They do that during preseason broadcasts because all the scrubs are playing trying to make the team. You aren't missing any action it is a meaningless game so they try to keep interest by interviewing folks.
