If you are looking for one to keep around I would definitely say the Rugers because you can mod till your herts desired. These are some great options everyone is giving as well I am just really partial to the rugers cause I have zero issues and mods for days.

I'll second that, I tend to like bolt action 22's more than semi's.

...right here. Marlin 60 semi and SVSR bolt gun since you said you didnt want to spend much. My Marlin 60 has been with me 35 years and has seen tens of thousands of rounds Im sure, mostly cycled as fast as i could pull the trigger as a child/teen.

Installed it on an ATI stock ...damn plastic trigger assembly broke twice ...$50 for new plastic trigger ...no I haven't bought that yet as waiting on a deal for the whole rifle since I got $70 in the stock kit
