No plugs required for turkey

Straight form GA DNR:

Turkey
Shotguns with No. 2 or smaller shot, any muzzleloading firearm, any air rifle of at least .30 caliber or air bow utilizing unignited compressed gas or air. Hunters are not required to plug shotguns for turkey.

I've never fired more than 2 on a sit anyways - killed 2 turkeys one time and shot a coyote 2x one time.

Have they recently changed this? You used to be required to have a plug in. This is nice. Not that I'll use that many shells if I stumble up on a hog it would be nice to have them. When I first started hunting turkeys I had a game warden check to see if my shotgun was plugged so I've never looked into it any further.

Yea, GW has checked my plug before. Must be relatively new.

Isn't the "plug" law a Federal law for waterfowl hunting??

Turkey/deer/pig exempt—-everything else requires a plug based on what I’ve read.

Not like it really matters for a turkey anyway. I never seen one stick around long after being shot at lol.

It's been like this for atleast 3 years now that I know of. I believe if on federal land like national forest you still have to have a plug in.
