So my aunt calls me today. her and her husband have 2 kids, been married 12yrs, and their relationship isn't the best. in fact it's not good at all. my aunt is my mom's sister, so my loyalties lie with her in this. my uncle has smacked her 2-3 times and pushed her a couple of times. Iv'e wanted to go over there and give him a whirl with me and see how far he gets, but my aunt has begged me to stay out of it. which i have, out of respect for her. so she calls me today and says her husband wanted to teach thier 9 yr old daughter a lesson on taking out the new puppy. apparently the puppy has peed on the carpet a bunch. which puppies do. so, he tackles my 9 yr. old cousin to the ground and grabs her by the back of the head, and rubs her head/face in the dog urine on the floor. i am now at the point where the consequences of kicking the daylights out of him are ok. I know i go to jail for this, but at what point do I or any of my family keep allowing this to go on. my aunt of course doesn't want him touched b/c she is scared if he goes to jail or leaves, she won't be able to pay the bills and feed the kids and such. i just don't know what to do. I don't know if i should cold cock his ass, call child protective services, or call the police. i just don't know. what do you guys think? thanks

Report the abuse to the authorities. Have him arrested, let him sit in jail, have a nice talk with him while he is in jail about how to be a husband and a father. Wait for him to get out and kick his A**.

CPS. You going to jail for this won't "teach" him anything, nor do you and your family any good at all. Tough spot, but you call CPS. He will be dealt with in one way or another and your aunt will move on. Just don't be caught in a few weeks, when worse happens, saying...I wish I had called it in. Regret is a tough pill to swallow.

I want to say beat his azz and piss on his face but that will only put you in jail.
Your aunt is a grown woman so if she wants to stay with an ass hole that hits her...well that's on her.
The child needs to be kept away from him. I would prolly give an anonomous call to child svc. And see what comes of that.

Call CPS. Be sure to sit down and write out what you know, along with the dates. You will accomplish nothing by commiting a crime to help your cousin out.

The way I see it, your Aunt can't pick between her husband and child, but the child is the one who needs your help. Offer to your AUnt to let the child stay with you, and be sure to let CPS know that this is an option(assuming that it is). You have to take into account how your actions today can best influence the child tomorrow.
