I wanted to give you a suggestion. Just turn your lower into a pistol by removing the buttstock from the stock tube and wrapping it in foam.

you can not legally remove a stock and make it a pistol. once the lower is an sbr, it is an sbr forever.
also if a long rifle ever had a buttstock attached, you can not use it for a pistol. only virgin lowers or a factory built pistol can be used with short uppers without te atf being involved
