One of the NRA Rifle Shooting Disciplines is Mid-Range.
Mid-Range matches are shot at 300,500, & 600yrds and any combination, Prone ONLY.
Scores are submitted to the NRA Score Tracker, and your Classifications will be mailed to you after 120 shots are recorded.
Classifications are(think handicap system when money/prizes are awarded):
High Master HM 98.50% and above
Master MA 97.00 to 98.49
Expert EX 94.50 to 96.99
Sharpshooter SS 92.00 to 94.49
Marksman MK Below 92.00

RiverBendGunClub (LINK) hosts a NRA Approved 3x600 every month, next match April 28th
Each competitor will shoot 3 times throughout the day. Each string will be unlimited sighters and 20shots for record in 25 minutes. Target is huge, 6ftx6ft, 10ring not so big(12 inches)

Where else can you shoot 600yrds (70+ shots) for $25, bring snacks and water.
Start time 8am, shooting 9am, usually complete by 1:30-2pm.
All Rifles will fall into one one of the 7 category of rifles.
New Category for this year is the Tactical AR(223/308) with scope and bipod.

Too bad they won't allow you to use the scope you have /set/ on 12x.

And I think my trigger's too light too, for the new class. Oh, and my barrel is too long, too...oh well - I like the idea of the new class they've created - I think it will bring in a lot of new shooters.
 
Come shoot, they will let you use any rifle.
They are not strict on the rules. The rules are only strictly enforced at Nationals.
No trigger weight-in. Worse case would be you would fall into the F-Class category and not Tactical AR.
 
I’m really tempted to bring my Savage .308 with it’s fixed 12 power scope. I’m confident I could do well, unless its windy... then I’m probably hosed :lol:

Are all shots at 600 yds?

If you want to get better at prone shooting come to these matches.
There are 2 basic Classifications: Unsupported/Sling and Supported(i.e. bipods & sandbags)
All single load slow fire, each stage you will have 25min to shoot unlimited sighters and 20 shots for record.
All skill levels are welcome, coaching will be provided, ask me and/or the match director.

This format is great for PRS Practice.
No-Muzzle Breaks.

Your rifle will fit into one of the NRA Mid-Range Divisions:
Unsupported/Sling
-Service Rifle
-Any Rifle, Iron Sights
-Any Rifle, Any Sight
Supported(i.e. bipods & sandbags)
-F-Class Open
-F-Class F-TR
-Tactical AR
