NRA PROPOSES REGULATING BUMPSTOCKS!!!!!

The NRA called for the ATF to review it. Not Congress. There is a bill in Congress to ban them. Congress makes laws and laws are not easily changed. ATF decisions and changed all the time, if they change it at all. They will probably look at it again and decide they do not violate he laws as written. By the time they finish their “study” the masses and media will have moved on to something else.

They already have moved on, it's the First Lady's sunglasses. lol

ATF does not have the authority to classify a gun as a machinegun just because of its rate of fire.
Executive-branch agencies carry out and apply the laws passed by the legislative branch. Congress gave us (with the NRA's input to tweak the language) a very specific definition of machinegun in 1934, and in the 1980s Congress amended that law to also add conversion parts intended to make machineguns.

If the NRA wants to go along with regulating or banning bump-fire stocks, the PROPER way to do this, in our system of government, is for Congress to amend the NFA or other federal laws.

Don't encourage BATF to ignore the text of federal law and ban things for reasons other than the reasons listed in the federal law.

Guess that is how we negotiate now ? The NRA's first offer is more regulation? I would hate to see what it looks like if the Republicans didn't control all three branches of government. The left always starts with total confiscation. Why don't we counter with repeal of all Federal gun laws and work from there ?
What a bunch of wusses !
