Nope not anymore. Now they want you stop taking a printed version of their magazines and go with the digital version which I can't get into that at all. They send you mail all the time asking for money but for what I don't know. I signed up years ago for the easy payment plan lifetime membership. Well all went good for about eight or months of paying the monthly statements they sent and suddenly they stopped coming each month. I have yet to talk to anyone with the NRA who can tell me what happened to all the payments I had sent them. I will not be suckered again...

Hmmmm ? ? ? ? ? Just hmmmmm.?????

GCO X 1,000,000

Send your money to a group that actually does something.

What do they do beyond Georgia?

If (and this is a big IF) for some crazy reason, gun control was instituted on the national level, GCO could not do a dang thing about it in the state... Federal laws trump state laws.

I'm NRA life member and GCO member. We wouldn't have the GCO if it weren't for the NRA. We have to have representation at the national level. I'm going to join SAF soon too. It aggrevates me that NRA and GCO can't play nice since both organizations are fighting for the same cause. There is a need for both of them.

Absolutly ! Also, for $35 a year, you get a magazine and $5k worth of gun insurance and other discounts, you cannot beat that deal

The GCO vice president, and attorney is currently involved in the legislation of the Wisconsin 5 as well.

Assisting on cases in other jurisdictions are fine, but he does still focus primarily on Georgia gun laws.

Again, I am a member of both and it is important to allow each of them to do what they do best-

NRA- big, national force that works to preserve the second amendment to the constitution. Lawsuits and initiatives are mostly filed in Federal courts or Congress.

GCO- small, specialized organization that works to change laws in Georgia so that the state is more second-amendment compliant. Lawsuits and initiatives are mostly filed in State courts or the Georgia General Assembly.

They complement each other, it is not an either/or case.

So....THAT's your reason NOT to join? Good grief! Ya gotta be kidding! I get more junk mail from my bank than from the NRA, and I've never won a gun either!

'Quote]; They have a habit of not going with the most conservative choice (Harry Reid debacle last year). That's one of the reasons. If you call them on it, they will say that they are a one issue organization and they will support whoever supports gun rights, which Reid does. However, Reid is a tool. ______________ _________________

You said it. "they will support whoever supports gun rights" ........
Well...............ME TOO!

NRA is the only one with clout.NRA is the only one the politicians are afraid of.NRA wins elections .NRA stops bad laws.Ga.laws don`t mean crap if the feds override them.NRA sends me a lotta mail. Most of it I toss.I pay my annual dues, and make one donation a year to one of their funds. Most of the negative remarks come from the uninformed.Nothing wrong with the other associations, just that the NRA has been helping us for decades, and when they speak, politicians LISTEN.If not for the NRA ,none of you guys would be owning(legally)ARs or ANY semi-auto deer rifles.Probably none of us could now own a handgun.NRA has provided lawyers to defend folks who have been wronged, especially when the cases would cause further loss of freedom to us down the road. The cost of joining the NRA is the cost of half a tank of gas in your truck. There should be an Anti-NRA Whiners Club somewhere, with a 35 cent membership. Then the whiners could get together and whine about us NRAs who foot the bill for their gun freedoms.

You can join NRA or GCO or any other organization you want but if it comes down to it ant nobody gonna keep the goverment from taking your guns but YOU! I dont trust nobody with my guns or money but me. I fight my own fights and take care of myself. I'm not gonna give my money to some organization to protect me, I got that covered.
