I like boiled peanuts but they have to be warm. And they're very messy, so it's kind of like eating lobster or crab legs. I need a bib or to be sitting on a tailgate wearing my old work clothes.

I love boiled peanuts,as a kid in south ga we would have peanut cookings .when they started turning peanuts up,we would go to the field and gather a truck load,pull them off the vines and wash them at least 3-4 times to get the dirt off.then put them in a big kittle on a big fire.3 boxes salt for 25#

Had a supervisor from Maryland visit me on one of my audits years ago in GA and I happened to be eating boiled peanuts at that moment. He asked what they were so I told him and offered him one to try. He placed a shelled one into his mouth and immediately spit it back out into a napkin, saying that was the nastiest thing he had ever eaten. He never visited me on that audit again. Thanks.

Hot, cold, no matter. Used to bring a can to the field to supplement C-rations and suddenly EVERBODY was your bestest buddy ever.

When at GMC we told the Yankees from NYC that these were "grit seed pods" and the grits they were putting sugar and cream in came from them. LOL.
