Odd item

Another idea. You may want to look at a piece of marble or granite. Many counter top suppliers have back splash pieces about the size you are looking for. I did a stand alone tub in the middle of a bathroom for someone years ago and used this as a transition from floor to tub. It dresses out nicely and doesn't cost much.

This is a long shot, but does anyone know where I can get a piece of hard plastic that would be at least 1 inch thick, by 3 inches wide, by 5 feet long? I need to make a shim to go underneath a sliding shower door for a full sized tub. My husband made one out of oak, but we have found that even with the tub caulk, water seems to find a way in and is causing the wood to get wet, and then leach a brownish substance back out around the caulk. I've removed the caulk and the bottom of the frame, but need to make a new shim. I'm thinking I could make it out of some sort of rubber/plastic, semi rigid, that could be cut with a table saw? Any ideas?

Try Homedepot they carry plastic corner trim boards for homes. these are solid plastic for the outside corner trim.

If you were closer I have plenty of nylon,UHMW, in green and white I would give you
I think nylon is the stuff I was thinking of. Sort of semi-transparent, rigid, but shaves down nicely?

I did get to HD yesterday and picked up a nice PVC trimboard for $14, so we're hoping that will do the trick. It's about 1 x 3 inches, and 6 feet long. We'll hone it down and make the shim. I'm pretty excited to get this fixed.
