*** ODT CMP range invasion version 2.0 *** October 1st.

I may just shoot pistols too since Wolf six isn't going. I think I'll start with pistols (get my qualification out of the way if no matches are going on) and then head over to the rifle range.

I'll bring some Hi-Standards if you want to shoot a target pistol.

No firearms allowed in club house.

Leave them in your vehicle.

Just grab a golf cart, load 'er up, and drop your stuff off at Range 1. Then return the golf cart to the front of the club house. Then walk back down to the range.

It's somewhat a hassle, but worth every minute! The other ranges you can drive to so if you have a bunch of stuff to tote you'll need a hand truck/cart/something or you'll make a bunch of trips back and forth.

You will exchange your drivers license for a card that gets you access to the other ranges. Leave that card on your steering wheel or gearshift knob so you don't forget to get your license back.

Don't get halfway back to GA and remember that you forgot your DL!!!

Better to bring and not need than need and not bring....
That's the truth!
I spent so much time on the rifle range last time I ran out of time and didn't get to check out the sporting clays.
I think I'm only going to bring ONE rifle this time (thought about bringing zero) so I can spend more time on the pistol ranges and hopefully shoot some sporting clays.

But YES, if you've never been, and don't get the chance to shoot long range, definitely bring all the rifles you'd like to stretch that you can and lots of ammo! As mentioned, almost never cold range means "fire at will"! (poor Will...)

So are we getting together at some point, preferably before the first range class ?

There are water fountains at the 100 and the 200/300/600 yard rifle ranges. And bathrooms-- there, on the range. I didn't actually confirm that the water fountains worked, but I'm pretty sure they are there.

But yeah, bring lunch.

There is no drink service. I'm not a golfer; I understand country clubs have that. Strangely, no one is bringing around beer and cocktails. But you'll enjoy it anyway. (Yes, I'm being sarcastic.)

If you've never shot "far" before-- bring your rifle, and a few boxes of your ammo of choice. We'll get you hitting at 600. The holdover may be tricky, but we can figure it out if you have some ammo, and can get a 100 yard zero. Very doable.

Lol, It's gonna rain again.
