OH Great ODT WORLD! Nite vision vs thermal???

I am looking for a good thermal monocular to help me spot squirrels in the tall trees. I am now 75 years old and can't spot them the way that I use to. Any of you fellow hunters out there use a thermal monocular for spotting small game. If so which do you use and what would you recommend. The unit will be used for scaring and will not be mounted on a rifle.. Thanks my friends...
I have a FLIR Scout TK monocular that I paid $400 for. Use it for finding downed game (mainly deer) and checking the area when hunting and walking in and out. Makes finding tree rats and such easy when it is cool. However, once temps start getting hot, everything blends together. If you get a thermal, spend some time getting used to the look of things and also what screen options you have.

Also, know that most thermals are line of sight only. They don't "see thru" things. A pane of glass has the same look as a sheet of plywood when looking at it.
