Old School Hideout Conversion

Done. Basically trench sighted (bead is same height as the former cone).

So, at 3 and 7 yds I pick up the big red bead at the bottom of the 4x8 inch A-Zone and get good hits ringing the steel easily. Nice for point shooting.

Beautiful work!

I have an original smith and Wesson first model double action in 44 Russian that somebody chopped down and mounted a shotgun bead sight on. Old school hideout guns are cool.

For a pocket-carried gun, I can see wanting a 2" (or 1 and 7/8") barrel.

But for a gun that's going to be worn in some kind of holster on your belt or waistband, I find the 3" barrel doesn't make it any harder to conceal, or carry, but makes it easier to shoot.

3 in is long enough to be a problem, Especially belted in a car. But that can be individual issue only.
