I recently got connected with an older gentleman with a couple of older, rarer guns. He says he has a 1927 16ga LC smith in great shape, a early belgium browning 12ga skeet special. And a few more. I have been around a few LC smith shotguns and browning but no expert... whats a good way of checking out the firearm to identify what model and grade it is? I have read up alot but wanting to know first hand what to look at. It seems like a steal of a deal before going and looking. I have talked to this gentleman several times on the phone. He seems like a older guy(84) that likes rare and obscure guns. To old to send pics and nearly blind so cant really get a accurate description before meeting.
