With as cheap as you can buy a metal lower nowadays I can't see a single reason to buy polymer.
I kinda have to agree with this comment even though I own an AR built on a TN Arms poly lower. I ordered it about a year ago because I got a good deal on it and it was FDE. I really dig FDE.
Anyway I think the ATI/Omni lowers have metal molded into the vital areas just like the TN Arms that I have. But I think they go one step further and have metal reinforcement rails molded from the buffer tube hole to about an inch or more along the top of the lower . It makes perfect sense because the pics I've seen of catastrophic failures in poly lowers were all in the skinny area behind the safety and in front of the threaded buffer tube hole.

I have 3 and all have performed as good or better with less weight than any of the metal lowers I own, I recommend them highly. ATI Omni has done what many poly makers could not di in the beginning and perfected their lowers.
