I've seen a suped up 80's Toyota with about 9000 invested total out pull a 2500 4x4. Gearing and balance play a huge part in what you have. It takes a lot just to get big tires to roll let alone to get them to break traction. You can win a lot of pull offs by waiting for the other person to break their traction.
 
That’s not a fair test. Cuz the diesel has its motor weight sitting on top of two drive wheels. Those pick em ups don’t have any weight on top of thar drive wheels. If they weighed down the rear ends of those pick em ups it would prolly be different.

When I was a boy ranching, whenever we got a two wheel drive truck stuck spinning in the field we’d drop the tail gate and have three people sit on it for extra weight on the drive wheels and we’d always git her out with more weight on drive wheels.
