I agree with the 20 gauge, but would go with semi-auto with a mag extension. You can carry more rounds and the semi-auto would be better in a firefight. Better keep it clean though.

I have a model 24 in 22mag/410, and I'd like it to be the one do it all gun. Reality - it's too slow to reload for self defense. I'd like to find a 24V in .357 over 20g. If I also had a 3" or 4" 686 on my hip I'd feel set.
