I carry a G19 instead of a 1911 because I would prefer to have more rounds in a high stress situation. I carry a pistol so I can fight my way to my rifle, I would rather have 30 rounds of 5.56 instead of 15 9mm but that's just me. If I am going to chose something to defend myself with it is going to be the best thing available to me. If that is a 30 round mag and an AR then so be it. Why limit myself to a YUGO when I can have a CORVETTE ?

Well, going by most of the comments in this thread, the only appropriate place to carry a rifle is at the range or hunting.

The media has done well at brainwashing even people in the gun community.

Maybe the libs are right, there is no reason to have an AR, when a Marlin 22lr will do the same thing.
