Opinions needed - best .22lr handguns - and why?

I would like to purchase a .22lr handgun - but cannot decide which one is best. I know everyone has an opinion - but I would also to like to hear why (and any pictures would be nice as well). I know all will have pros and cons - but need to hear from the experts - i.e. YOU!!!

Ruger Mark II or III

Best based on what criteria, and what budget?

For a middle price point, I'm a fan of buck mark pistols. Great triggers, reliable, and it's easy to swap out barrels if you want to go a different direction. Ruger MKIII and 22/45 series are also good.

Any Ruger MKI II or III or 22/45, only other I would choose as a contender is the Browning Buckmark, S&W had some good ones but you don't see them as much. Why do I choose these? cause they just work.

This. The ruger MK series can be a pain to disassemble but once you get the hang of it they arnt to bad.
