Opinions needed - best .22lr handguns - and why?

IMO, the best value for the money is the Buckmark Camper. They are simple, reliable, accurate and easily repaired if there is a part failure. The serial number is on the frame so you can buy aftermarket or factory barrels fairly cheap as well as all of the internals. I have owned a lot of .22 handguns over the years and the Buckmark beats them all hands down. My second choice would be the Ruger Single Six. They are built like a tank and it gives you the option of shooting 22 Magnum. There are many great .22 handguns out there, but dependability and value for cost these are my choices.

Buckmark camper... but it depends on what you're comfy with, i do like the rugers and every 9mm i own right now is a P series

the buckmark for me has a better grip angle, i'm much more consistent .... i wish i could find a 30+ mag for it :D

I was going to say Ruger Mk II or III, but given how incredibly horrible it is to field strip and put one back together... I can't.

Before this, I often said that you needed an additional elbow in order to re-assemble the Mark series.

Best $50 I ever spent.

i swear by my ruger sr22. have put at least 2500 rounds through it since i've owned it the last 11 months. 12 fte happened but that was early on in the breaking in period, possibly the first 100. and i had 2 ftf after i deliberately put down 500 rnds w/o cleaning it at all.
