Ordered my first can. Walk me through this fellas….

I ordered my first NFA item this weekend, a YHM R9. It’s getting sent to my local shop who has a Silencer shop kiosk. I know I will need to make an account with them, a ATF E file account, and do my fingerprints. I won’t be doing a trust so what does that entail for me? I’m just looking for feedback and some guidance on the process. Thanks fellas!

Basically you do all the things on the kiosk after you make the account. Someone at the store will walk you through it. Then you pay $200 extortion, wait between 46 minutes and a year, then go pick it up.

If that can wasn't bought via Silencer Shop, and dealer - the dealer you are working with that has the kiosk MAY charge you a small handling fee, but I think you'll find it worth it for the ease of the process using the kiosk.

I have an R9 on a 9 inch AR9 pistol and it is excellent. Great choice.

Your dealer will walk you through it.

Essentially, they'll take it in on a form 3. You'll need to set up your SS account. The kiosk can take your pic and fingerprints. You'll start the form 4 and pay your stamp. Your dealer will email/call/text to let you know that your form is ready to certify. You can do this online via a remote session or in-shop. You and the shop will make the determination. Once the certification is complete, you wait for the approval. You'll get an email from the ATF at the same time your dealer gets it. You'll go into the shop, fill out your 4473, and then you will be good to go.
