Hey guys, I've been a trader on here for a few years and have had many great transactions. I've recently moved to TN, and I have a question. I know that I can't buy a firearm as an out of state resident, but can I trade for one? I recently tried to trade one of my pistols for a rifle and received a "no way" from the trader. I didn't really consider the legal ramifications when I made the offer. I spend more than half of my time in GA and still consider it home. It didn't bother me, because he is probably right. I'm guessing that a trade falls under transfer, but I just wanted some clarification. Any help would be appreciated.

If you're no longer a Georgia resident, you need to get an FFL involved for any sales *or trades*.
A few years ago ATF even declared that the long term loan of a firearm (for testing and writing up a range report) counts as a "transfer" under the interstate gun laws.
