OK, in 2005, my buddy and I both bought boats. I got a small Triton with a 25HP 4-stroke, and he got a Tracker with a 50HP 2-stroke. I've been disappointed since day one with the underpowered 25 horse. He's wanted to get a 4-stroke. We talked about a compromise, with me giving him my 25 4-stroke for his smaller boat, buying a new 4-stroke for his Tracker, and me getting his 50 2-stroke for my Triton.
My problem:
I have no idea what either motor is worth today. Both outboards are low, low hours. What I'm looking for is an idea what boot I'd have to throw to get his 50 over my 25.
Thoughts?
