I have a group of guys I met in college that I hunt, fish and hang out with. There’s 13 of us that stay in touch with each other weekly. We have had our annual dove hunt every year since 1987. Haven’t missed a year and we have been going to Lake Texoma striper fishing every November for the last 12 years.
Over the years there has been some crazy late nights and early mornings and it never fails that someone is usually trying to pull off a good joke or prank. We have a few rules like= if you pass out anywhere other than your bed you are fair game. There is a box of new Sharpies on the bar at the cabin if you break this rule.
This year a few days after the dove opener some of the guys had to go home. I cleaned the doves up and put them in ziplock bags for the guys to take home. After they left I needed to air up a UTV tire and when I got my 12 volt compressor out of my truck I noticed a bag of dove shoved up under my back seat. After some investigating I figured out who it was. I felt bad that he had left his doves so I mailed them to him. Little did I know he would be gone out of town for 16 days before he got his mail.

This was several years ago when one of the guys passed out on the floor. We made a salad on him and peppered him up. He snores horribly and every time he would inhale we sprinkled cayenne pepper across his mouth. We all end up being victims eventually. The worst I got was when the guys filled empty 12 gauge boxes with the dove guts, heads and feathers and then put the boxes back in the cardboard cases they come in. I put the flat back in my office/man cave/gun room. About 3 weeks later the stench was horrible. Took me a another week to find out where the stink was coming from.
The worst practical joke was when a dead pot bellied pig got placed in the bottom of a tool box on the front of a UTV trailer. When my friend got home to Arlington Texas he backed the trailer and UTV into his garage and unhooked it. He left for Tennessee the next day for 45 days to do a big directional boring job. It’s was mid August and over 100* when he got home. He said that his garage was horrendous and full of flies.

We put several dead fish under a buddies car seat one time and he would go by and eat supper with his mother at night . She gave him leftovers to take home to his dog and for about a month he thought he had spilled some in back floorboard! He finally figured it out as it got really rough and he found what he as left under seat!
