Pet shot and at the vet

Ask your kids if they would give up their cell phone and internet for a year so you could afford the surgery. If they say no way, then try a shelter where someone may adopt it. If not, at least it will be put down in a humane way. Or, there is always the alternative 22lr.
For me, it would only cost about $.05.

Well, he's in route to anonther vet, actually my wife's best friend growing up used him for their animals so we feel a little about it. Should know something either later tonight or in the morning.

If it were a dog I'd save it; a cat, nah. Go adopt a kitten from the shelter and your kids will forget all about the old cat. I'm not a cat person though, I really can't stand them...I spent a couple grand on one of my dogs once to save her leg from having to be amputated and I would do it again in a heartbeat. I love my dogs, but a cat. Nope. I don't think I could shoot it myself but I'd pay the vet to put it down.

lol chucklenut

I may need someone to watch my back. I was washing my bike yesterday and heard something hiss. Sure enough that mean ass tom cat had snuck up on me and started hissing at me. Despite having a high pressure water hose in my hand, the only thing I could think of is "dont make eye contact" and I backs away slowly keeping the bike between me and the cat. I am starting to lose sleep.

I had a dream last night that I was looking through a scope across my street, as I was panning across, the glint of light caught my eye. When I move back to it... it was the gray tom cat... except his face looked like tom barenger and he shot me in the eye through my own scope.

Literally rotfl... Tried to read this to my wife and it took me 10 minutes to get through it. ****in awesome!

I like most of all our domestic friends, but when I tell the kids to "bring a box", they know what that means. Cats, Dogs, Gerbils, Fish, Turtles, Hissing Cockroaches, Toads, Tarantulas and Mice, we've been through them all.

I vote to take that $1000 and donate it to a homeless shelter, animal shelter, food kitchen or something special for residents of a nursing home. Do it in your deceased pets name.

Dang. What vets do you guys go to? Mine only charges $85 to euthanize a cat, and that is with an exam first and a little paw print pressed into a clay circle for a memento.

I just had to put one of mine down last week. He had a seizure while sitting on my lap and it caused him to go blind. Doc said most likely cause was a tumor, so I had him put down. $85 all said and done. A bit more than a .22, but still reasonable. If the vet had been closed due to snow, he would have gotten the .22. It is just the right thing to do.
