Pickup Truck Bed Covers. What Type?

I've sold just about every brand and option out there. What are you wanting a bed cover for? Security, looks, water or dust protection, etc.

Also, how often do you items in the bed that extend above the bed rails?

My priorities are:

1. Security
2. Water/dust protection
3. Looks
4. Cost

May carry something above the rails four or five times a year. Need a place to secure coats, tools, luggage, a walker. My service dogs crate takes up 60 percent of the floor in the back of my supercrew, 5.5 short bed.

That's what I'm leaning towards, but my other half is all "What if we have to carry something tall?" I'm telling her we just pop off the cover when necessary.

I had an ARE clamshell.
Big pain if you carry anything big.
Hated it.

I now have a roll n lock.
Always comes out of alignment, but the dealer adjustment is free.
I half hate this one.

Next one is going to be a bacflip.

Also got a bed slide now and love that.
It only kills 3-4" of height, worth the slide feature.

I have a tri-fold on my 2010 Silverado. cover came with the truck when I bought it in 2014. I like it so far, keeps my junk dry, covered and relatively secure.

Extang trifecta tri fold. Love it. Easy on and off. Good job keeping water out. Had it for 6 yrs and its still in good shape and truck stays parked outside
