You will never get them to admit there is a list.... But it's the government of course they have a list and no we peons can't access it

I just know when I bought a few stripped lower I bought them as pistol lowers. I just assume the pistol I have acquired were originally pistols and the rifles were rifles

Nope, there is no registration in GA.

The manufacturer might be able to tell you if it was manufactured as a pistol, rifle, or other; but not all are willing to do that.

It would depend on how it was listed on the first 4473 that was completed on that lower.

But even that answer ain’t always so. You could buy a brand new complete AR rifle. Later, you sell it to registered FFL. The FFL decides to disassemble the complete rifle, and transfer the lower to itself as a “receiver”. It is now a receiver, and can be built into anything.

At TruPrep, we transfer all receivers, complete or not, as a “receiver” if it doesn’t have an upper receiver on it.

There is no way you can know unless he/she has the original receipt where it is listed, the rule is if it was originally sold as a rifle you can't make it a pistol it has to be SBRed to be legal. I always use bare lowers for pistol builds
