Planning a cruise!

I understand you have to go through a metal detector on Royal Caribbean before you get on the ship. I'm driving down and will be carrying my pistol and probably parking at one of the hotels off the port that will give you free parking for the cruise when you book a room for one day. We are porting out of Canaveral. So, can I put my pistol is my packed luggage and be safe to have it? Don't want to leave it in the vehicle and don't want to drive all the way down south without it.
Depending on ports of call, no. And remember these aren't US registered vessels.

I've been known to put bourbon in my wine bottle.

Also in my shoes.

Leave the pistol at home. If in packed baggage going through the metal detector, you lost it.
Look at a ship same as airlines most rules apply, even small knifes and the such wont go through.

0 chance of getting a pistol on the ship, but I know from experience that carnival and NCL will let you carry a knife on board. I has to be 4" or smaller if I recall correctly.

This was my redneck way for liquor.... Lol

last November went down to Caribbean on ncl, had my 3 1/2 (maybe 3”) knife and a small pair of scissors taken out of my luggage. They did return them when we arrived back in port a week latter. Never had that happen before. Left out of Fort Lauderdale.

We went on the Norwegian Epic over Thanksgiving week. It was very nice. The food was awesome the boat was also very nice. We went on the Royal Caribbean freedom of the seas cruise in 2009. It too was very nice. Both ships were large and very comfortable pay for an exterior room we had balconies.

That's odd, we went on the NCL getaway maybe 3 yrs ago with no issue. But maybe they have changed policy?
