It is a cut down victory or pre mod 10. May be 38s&W wallowed out to take 38spl, or 38 spl originally.

Sounds about right. Maybe less if the cylinder was originally 38S&W.

When those were shortened, they removed the front support for the crane/cylinder assembly. And 38spl in a 38S&W barrel is not known for accuracy.

They made them with the short barrel from the factory, also.

Probably a former police detective gun. Before criminals were super human, 38 Specials in snubs made a lot of sense.

I am not sure, but I think the Victory models had a “V” in the serial number.

I have checked my books and it looks to be the hammer of a new century hand ejector , but the rest looks like a 200 S&W british service model. maybe mixed parts. I will keep looking.
