So my wife got me one of these for our Anniversary/fathers Day gift. Well it is considered a pistol so is there any way I can break the tack weld so I can fold the stock back. Also does anybody know where I can find slings and stuff. Thanks.

A. you would need to tax stamp it to sbr it. B. Some people have tried to remove it and really buggered their guns up. So if you decide to sbr it take it to a smith.
Is there a way I can order the parts kit and just use the folding stock off of it?
Yep what Laxguy59 said. If you break the weld without a class III tax stamp for a short barreled rifle, you run the risk of becoming a member of Club Fed.
Have you shot it very much? if not you may want to run a few hundred rounds through her to make sure all is well before you put any more money into it.
Quality is hit and miss---some run like a champ. I got one that was NIB and it had multiple issues with trigger placement, hammer issues--a lot of was out of spec. An older gentleman I know 'tinkers' all the time. I told him what it was doing and he bought it at a discounted price than what I had in it. It took him over 20 hours of labor just to get everything set up with the hammer/trigger group to get it to feed, shoot and eject.
