I've seen the A10 at Grissom AFB in Indiana . They did a simulated attack with
pyrotechnics on the ground . Seeing them work was very impressive.

A-10 was born out of lessons learned in Vietnam.

Redundant systems for major components like hydraulics, electronics, it even has two engines.

Pilot sits in a titanium bathtub for protection.

30mm main gun can defeat all known threat armor.

How the heck can we even THINK about retiring this weapon system?
