I’m off work for the next 9 days. Can’t go on a real vacation because the wife has to work and the kid is in school.

So I’m just going go drive and eat as much BBQ as possible. And I need suggestions in North Georgia.

What is your favorite BBQ restaurant, and where is it? What’s the best thing they make?

Taking a statin and heading out this afternoon. Pics to follow.

I like all BBQ, but especially beef ribs the way we cut them in Argentina. Slow cooked for hours over "carbon de leña", only salted before cooking. Then just enjoy with out any sauce. For a local restaurant, I hear Biguns is good north of Jasper on 515. Sounds like you're about to have a fun week.

I'm not sure if I don't like their biscuits in the morning better than the BBQ.
Go early for the biscuits and then hang around for bbq at lunch might be the best way to work it!

I also don’t see Brisket on your poll. That would be my pick then pulled pork.

Hawg Wild BBQ and Catfish in Cornelia was pretty good the one time I went there.
North Ga BBQ in Dahlonega had a good sammich.
Fresh Air in Athens - great stew.
Big Uns in Jasper.
Pink Pig in Ellijay.
Choo Choo BBQ in Chickamauga
Mikes Smokehouse (In Chattanooga, but who deosn't like Chattanooga?)
Fox Bros BBQ (Little 5 points ATL but worth the drive)

Different , but damn good is Kelly's Jamaican in Athens. Jerk chicken and pork. Be sure to get the spicy cabbage for one of your sides.

Also, we have G brand BBQ down here in Crawford, if ya ain't had it yet.

Chains and over-hyped places usually cater to mass production, don’t take the time and love of the mom and pops cooking.
