what are some powders that are ball or flakes for rifles? i got some powder and it is the stick kind and its not doing so good in my powder measure.

Without knowing the burn rate your looking for it's hard to say.

In general, the Alliant family of rifle powders meter quite well. I use a lot of Reloader 19 and Reloader 22 for the 30-06 family, and several over bore cartridges.

For an all around good powder in the medium burn class, Varget meters well.

I use a lot or Winchester powder for my high volume rounds. W748 and W760 are true spherical powders that meter like water.

There are many others. Most manuals have list of different powder types and burn rates.

The two Winchester powders 748 and 760 will load all those calibers great.

748 is one of my overall favorite powders for .223 and .308.

The 760 will do great in 30-06 and .243 Win.

They're both true ball/spherical powders that meter great.

I believe Hodgdon revealed that H 414 is identical to Win 760, so the two should be interchangeable.(Please Verify)

Hodgdon's BLC-2 and 335 are also a very popular spherical powder that works well in the .223.
