PPC revolver build

Now we talkin!
When I worked for GADOC we had model 64s.
I will say this - I used a Wilson case mouth chamfer tool to recrown my Enfield .303 barrel. It had a bit of corrosion washout and a burr or 2 in the crown. I ran the Wilson tool in there and good to go.

Improvise, adapt and overcome.

may father retired from DOC after retiring from the Army. This gun has numbers etched into the side plate. If I can get test fire it today without issue I will pick up a new another side from eBay plate and get started on the finish.

Well no bang today. Trying to figure out if I have the wrong hammer or striker. Not getting any protrusion through the firing pin hole. I might make a trip back over tomorrow to the store and see if they have another. Like I said it was a bag of parts when I picked it up. Here is how it looks assembled.

So for now I have to find the correct hammer spur. I have two different types and neither fit properly. So off to the hunt for parts. Neither of mine will fit flush as to allow full travel of the trigger.

An early morning trip turned into some parts from a model 10-5. I robbed the hammer nose for these parts since it was the correct one I needed. Apparently S&W offered three different hammers on these guns. Installed it and touched off three rounds to test fire. Still have the hole to drill and tap on the top strap to secure the sight before any real group testing is practical.

I'd get it to where it shot well and everything was locked and dialed in and then I wouldn't change a thing! Blotchy finish and GADOC #s on side plate and all. I like it, but that's just me. I like a "frankenstein" project and the weirder the better......as long as it works as it should and is safe. I love projects like this.

Now go load ya a gajillion 148gr. WCs over 2.7gr. Bullseye and ammo can them and you're good to go!

I did a little sand blasting on the side plate this morning. Eventually I will sand it down so all the numbers are gone. At this point I am trying to decide about fitting the model 10 cylinder if it’s even possible. But I am going to redo all the metal and clean it up. I have a buddy who does pretty good handy work with trigger jobs. I might let let him hold it for a day or so. I work all weekend so not much going to happen for the next few days.
