Precision Long Range Reloaders

REDX - If you don't mind my asking, what type of equipment are you using? I do not shoot long range and I almost always shoot with iron sights on non-custom rifles. 800 yards and in is where I would normally shoot with 200 - 300 being normal. I do check loads and chrono at 100 yards but rarely shoot beyond 300. I hnow folks local that build rifles on custom actions, use expensive glass, etc., but I haven't gotten into that game yet.

I've shot to 1000 from a bench. I've also shot to 1000 contorted between wooden spools, positioned on stacks of tires, laying on 4 pvc pipes on concrete with nothing touching the ground, and whatever else Guess which one was easier.

ok, go shoot one of their matches then report back. Like I said I have shot Hard Rock and I shoot PRS. If you shoot Joe's matches compare yourself to the "Mad Russian" as far as skill, if you can consistently beat him and clean a typical 550 yard KYL stage at a PRS match give it a shot.

At that time I was shooting a 338 Lapua with a Bushnell ERS scope on it. Right now for comps I shoot a Bergara 6.5 Creedmoor using 130 Bergers and a U.S. Optics ER 25 in a Mega Chassis.
Look into the Ruger Precision Rifle or the new Begara b14s or B17s for budget builds or get yourself a SPS tactical and stick it in a Magpul or HS Precision stock to start off with. best bang for the buck on glass sub 1200 is the Bushnell DMR Or night force SHV F1.
You don't have to spend an arm and a leg to play this game. The Begara Creedmoor factory guns ALL shoot sub .8s and most shoot sub .5s out of a factory gun and (yes I shoot every last one before the ship). let me know if I can help you any.

Right now a lot of the PRS Venues are starting to do more and more 1 day matches. Look or Core shooting solutions, Steel City Precision, and Alabama Precision websites. Good thing about the one day matches is that the Pros aren't gaming to win and they are more than happy to help you and coach you while you shoot.

Top two shots were mine, The bottom two came from a 15 year old, and yes its 2160 down at blackly at one of my weekend at the range events

Man, can Joe get us back on the Blackly shooting complex? I heard they shut it down. Peter Renwick and I shot my 300wm at 1760 last time I was there last year shooting a Joe match.

Thanks for the information. I own a Sendero with a Leupold VXII chambered in .270 WIN and that was my only scoped rifle for 22 years. I have recently put a SPS Varmint .308 WIN into an HS Precision M24 stock with the HS Precision bottom metal 10 round mag kit. This started when I bought a FFP Viper 6 X 24 scope. I have a Badger Ord rail mount and I used a SPUHR ISMS mount with 20.6 MOA base elevation built in. I did this thinking I'd like to shoot at 1,000 yards someday. I have no idea from practical experience what I'm doing, just reading online. It'd be good to get some input from experienced shooters for shooting at distance.

Plenty of good experienced shooters on here. And the occasional jack ass but once you figure out who's who... Hook up and go shooting. Me and a buddy going to an 800 yard range today. Let me know if you want to come out some time, we have access to an 800 yard range and a 1200 yard range.
