Price check: Winchester Mod 70 FWT .257 Roberts

I just went into my local gun store and found a pristine condition (with original box) 2012 model Winchester Model 70 Fewtherweight chambered in 257 Roberts. It’s a beautiful gun and it caught my eye immediately. Has a beautifully jeweled bolt and the wood/metal are near perfect. It also has Leupold bases and rings that were installed on it when purchased new.

I’ve honestly never owned a Winchester rifle so I have no clue what this gun would be worth.

Looking for some help on this before I “pull the trigger!”

The jeweled bolt and extractor and foreend tip would make me believe this is a super grade. Probably around $1500-$2000 I would guess if that is the case. Condition being the deciding factor. It is a very nice rifle!

Very nice rifle. 257 Rbts Model 70 Featherweight is a TOP SHELF Rifle. “SUPER GRADE” should be on bottom metal if it is a Super Grade.

I'm in agreement with 300_Whisper. Probably around $1000. Good guns all around. The .257 Roberts is a personal favorite of mine.

I love a model 70. I was thinking the jeweled bolts were on more rifles than just the super grade. I have a jeweled bolt on one of mine & it’s not.

I have a model 70 in 30-06 and I absolutely love it. If I remember correctly it was about $800 but that was 10 years ago. In my opinion that one would be worth less because .257 is a very odd caliber but I could be wrong about that.

257 Bob is a highly sought after cartridge, and has a cult based following. I’d think that would make it worth more than the 06’s a model 70 06’ is probably one of the most common bolt actions on the market.
