PRIMER QUESTION

I just got a jug of CFE 223 today. Just got a little confused on the 6-1/2 primers.
I plan on starting on the low end of the (.223)powder data until I get a good load figured out.

CCI 41 for small rifle and 34 for large rifle are designed for semi auto use to prevent slam fires. They are harder, but function as designed in my experience.

Wow this thread all over the place. First those primer are fine to use. Just so you know small pistol and small rifle are the same size. I use SRP on all my pistol loads. So primers are not the issue. Sizing is the hardest part about reloading 223/556 rounds. Lake City and most military primers have crimps on the primer pockets. For sizing the brass I use Little Crow tool ($50) and for the crimp I use Dillon tool ($100). After that there're tons of powder that you can use.

Good luck
Rick
